Reporting directly to the COVID-19 Recovery Board, I led the organisation’s communications response to the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating activity across a range of channels for both internal and external audiences.

I was responsible for managing all internal communications activity across the organisation (for over 1,600 employees and 10,000 students). I led the development and implementation of a new internal communications strategy and leadership engagement programme and was instrumental in the establishment of a new student communications function. I also worked closely with the Vice-Chancellor and Executive team to launch a new corporate strategy, leading the campaign to engage colleagues in the new vision and strategic direction.

Responsible for communicating a range of corporate and strategic messages to staff and students to support the organisation’s corporate strategy and objectives.

Commissioned to explore ways the club could grow and diversify its fan base through attracting more ethnic minority supporters to matches. Compiled a report and presented recommendations to the club in June 2018. Several service and marketing initiatives were introduced ahead of the 2018/19 Premier League season and a working group set up to implement more. The work received notable media coverage, with coverage in the Yorkshire Post and Huddersfield Examiner, as well as an interview on BBC Radio Leeds, and has been recognised by several other clubs. I also submitted the project as part of my MBA and received a mark of 92 and was subsequently awarded the University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Award.

Provided regular support with PR and marketing campaigns for several key clients, producing press releases and opinion articles, and other forms of digital content. Java Productions Ltd is an agency providing marketing and communications support to SME's.

Two-year graduate scheme comprising four 6 month rotations across the organisation, focused on enhancing the effectiveness of communications in each function:Employee Communications Officer: Responsible for establishing new methods of communicating corporate and strategic messages to employees.Executive Communications Officer: Responsible for working with the Executive Team to develop empowering leadership communications which drive engagement and business performance.Press and Media Officer: Responsible for raising the external profile and reputation of the University through writing press releases and liaising with regional, national and trade journalists, and for generating website traffic through writing engaging website and social media content.Student Communications Officer: Responsible for supporting the student body with comprehensive and relevant messaging through appropriate communication channels and for enhancing the promotion of the University's academic support services.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of digital projects for a number of high-profile clients and for improving Google search terms around the company name and products, which involved maintaining regular social media output, producing relevant and engaging website content, and planning and executing online PR campaigns.Igniyte is a UK-based online reputation management company with clients across the world. They work with individuals, companies and brands to help replace negative press articles, reviews, blogs and comments with positive content. The company has featured in The Guardian, The Times, The Financial Times and The Daily Telegraph.

Alongside my studies, I was responsible for managing Yorkshire SportsAid's digital communications to support the charity in attracting new sponsors and improving the retention of existing ones by increasing website traffic and enhancing its online presence and media exposure. Managed webpages and social media accounts, implementing social media and content marketing strategies, using content curation, SEO and Google keywords. Also produced regular press releases for local media.

Responsible for creating daily content for the World Snooker website throughout the tournament, such as match reports, player interviews and feature pieces. I was also responsible for producing updates on World Snooker´s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat) and was involved in the running, organising and promotion of events such as a Fans Forum, which was broadcast on World Snooker´s YouTube channel.

Responsible for creating daily content for the World Snooker website before and during the tournament, and for producing press releases which were distributed to national and international media outlets. I was also responsible for analysing national media coverage throughout the tournament and reporting any issues to the Press Officer.
