Having left University in 2004 with a degree in Sports Technology I gained a grant to set-up a business off the back of my dissertation. The focus was on improving the safety offered by a cricket glove that integrating the A.C.I.S (Air Cushion Impact System) into it. This design was licensed to Canterbury Ltd for a 3 year period between 2007-2010. This IPR was then transferred into a brand new innovative cricket helmet design that was brought to market in 2011.From 2013-2014 we were a global licensee of the Adidas brand and produced a cricket helmet range that was powered by Ayrtek but carried the Adidas logo. This AdiPower range was launched at Lords Cricket Ground on the 19th September 2013.The A.C.I.S technology was then developed further to look at the cricket helmet market as inadequate levels of protection were resulting in injuries with players wearing a more traditional design. A helmet design from concept was produced using CAD/CAM processes and then tooled up to produce the widely recognised design we use today across the range. The helmets have been BSI tested to show they are upto 300% safer and upto 40% lighter than other brands on the market. We use high spec materials to construct the helmets which results in market leading levels of protection. On the 1st August 2016 I founded Ayrtek Cricket Limited to run as my own entity, and have now launched a new range including the new PremierTek Youth helmet, along with a new soft goods and bat range. Most recently re-launch of the Hybrid sweatband product line that I came up with back in 2009 but have resurrected due to my brand partnership with leading impact material D3O.Specialties: Sports Product Design, innovation,
