Between May 2018 and October 2022 I was employed at RMIT University in Melbourne, working as part of the IMCRC supported Just-in-Time Bone Tumours project. My work largely involved the development of robotic solutions for the treatment of bone tumours. Specifically, my responsibilities included:- Software development, including methods to ensure the accuracy and safety of the system.- General system development, including mechanical and system design.- Supervision of Masters and PhD students.- Communication and collaboration with clinical and industrial partners.

Between October 2016 and April 2018 I was employed in the Biomechatronics, Robotics and Autonomous Systems group at Monash University, where my work was largely focused the development of robotic approaches for non-invasive treatment of liver tumours using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). My responsibilities included:- Software development, including methods to ensure the accuracy and safety of the system.- The application of machine learning approaches for motion tracking and prediction.- General system development, including electrical and some mechanical design.- Initiation of new projects with new and existing clinical partners- Grant writing and funding applications- Supervision/management of students & engineering team

During my initial post-doctoral experience I continued to refine the work completed during my PhD in preparation for the world first robotic cochlear implantation clinical trial, as well as working closely with the companies MED-EL and CAScination towards the commercialisation of the technology and approaches. My other responsibilities included:- Initiation of new projects with new and existing clinical partners, including in the fields of obstetrics/gynaecology and spinal neurosurgery.- Grant writing and funding applications, both national and international, including interfacing with technical and clinical partners.- Regulatory testing and documentation.- Supervision of MSc and PhD students, as well as lecturing.

My PhD, titled "Integrated Sensing and Control for Robotic Microsurgery on the Lateral Skull Base", involved working as part of a multi-disciplinary team towards the development of a high accuracy robotic approach to cochlear implantation. My work specifically focused on achieving suitable accuracy levels, as well as the development of novel approaches to ensuring the safety of the patient. My role included:- Algorithm and software development- Mechanical and electronic design & implementation- Interfacing with clinical partners- Scientific publishing and manuscript preparation
