Promoted to Principal Transport Planner

I have recently joined Cotswold Transport Planning as a Transport Planner. Cotswold Transport Planning clearly stood out as the company I wanted to join for their excellent reputation and their respectable and friendly approach towards both employees and clients alike. I am excited by the additional responsibility I will be undertaking on each project as part of the role and the further experience and skills I hope to gain, along with all the new colleagues and clients I look forward to meeting and working with.

I began my career in Transport Planning at BWB Consulting as a trainee technician, learning the role and gaining a strong understanding of what is included within the transport planning services and what a crucial element of the planning process it serves. As part of the role I attended and achieved the HNC in Civil Engineering Course at Coventry University College. Throughout my employment with BWB, I was promoted to Technician after receiving the HNC and was promoted again a year later to Senior Technician. During this time, I gained a vast amount of experience on a wide range of projects that have included the residential, industrial, commercial and educational sectors. These experiences significantly increased my competency in particular tasks for the role including 2D Highway Design, the use of specific softwares including Junctions 9, TEMPRO, GIS and AutoCAD and the production of reports including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans. Towards the end of my tenure with BWB, I undertook and introductory course in Road Safety Auditing (RSA's) and have since undertaken several Stage 1/2 RSA's. I aim to gain further experience and qualifications in RSA's with my current employment at Cotswold Transport Planning.
