Currently working towards achieving a PhD in Maths at the University of Exeter. Specifically, I’m looking at spatial-temporal Bayesian methods for statistical post-processing applications, supervised by Dr. Stefan Siegert and Dr. Ben Youngman. It extends from my Masters thesis in part, which was looking at a particular application for flood trend detection in the UK. My main interests at the moment are approximate Bayesian inference methods for latent Gaussian models and extreme value theory. I’m particularly interested in applying these problems to large climate and weather focused datasets that struggle with missing data problems or spatial interpolation efficiency issues with large samples. I’m open to new opportunities alongside my research and I’m very much looking forward to the next few years of science.
