Somehow, I found a vocation that pays me to overthink. A lot of that thinking is about solving the right problems as effectively as possible. The best work my teams create find harmony between the art of creativity and the rigor of marketing science. Whenever the twain meet, it feels like magic (and why I’m still doing this). Sometimes, we are recognized with awards for this work, which is nice.I’m forever learning and proving the value of brand and fighting those pesky performance marketers (you’re ok, most of the time) so we can keep selling stuff in fun ways that don’t scream ‘LOOK, AD!’. TL;DR: For me it’s all about work that works. As the Ogilvy adage goes, “If it doesn’t sell, it isn’t creative”.
