I began racing at age 5 and hold championships in major racing disciplines including karting, pavement ovals, dirt tracks, and road course events. In 2009 at the age of 9, I was the recipient of the Motorsports Press Association “Rising Star Award”, and since then I’ve claimed 32 championships and set numerous track records. As a child, I raced against adults at the age of 14, and was the youngest entrant in an event organized by the National Auto Sports Association in 2013. Still to this day, I race against competitors twice my age.I’ve won over 700 amateur races, including 7 National Championships in QMA, sweeping USAC events, winning the SCCA Spec Miata Championship 4 times, and getting podium finishes in my first two Touring Car America races. On and off the track, I give back to the local Bay Area community by supporting non-profits and volunteering at SCCA driving school. I’ve created Tommy McCarthy Racing (which is the youngest team in professional motorsport to win Crew of the Year) to continue my racing passion. I’m currently obtaining my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University and will be entering the SRO Toyota GR Cup Series in Spring of 2023.
