I am a composer, performer, and author from Raleigh, NC with over 15 years of experience. I play multiple folk instruments, such as the guitar (acoustic and classical), mandolin, banjo (tenor, 5 string), bouzouki, piano, and various percussion instruments.As a composer, I specialize in creating folk/fantasy music by combining traditional and world instruments with the orchestra. I'm proficient in various music and audio software such as Protools, Logic, and Finale, and audio middleware programs Wwise and FMOD.I am the mandolinist and co-founder of the award winning Americana band, The Barefoot Movement, where I've continually toured nationally and internationally since 2011, playing in 47 states. In January of 2018, I published my first mandolin instruction book with Mel Bay Publications, titled “Theory and Improvisation for the Modern Mandolinist”, and have since published over 8 mandolin music and instruction books with Mel Bay.
