As the senior leader of my team, I provided guidance and mentorship to a team responsible for all communications operations in the special warfare maritime community. My area of focus was on new ways to communicate in environments around the world where traditional communications weren't possible. Other responsibilities included managing and maintaining complicated networks, deployed networks, and satellite communications. This was a fast-paced and agile setting with little room for error. My team was successful in providing new low visibility communications platforms to maritime operators and ground troops enhancing battlefield awareness and safety overall.

I was the team leader, responsible for the full scope of underwater operations utilizing a complex suite of sonar equipment. I was responsible for locating any targets of interest that were lost at sea, or other bodies of water, such as aircraft, weapons, personnel, etc... My team provided precise locations for these items as well as sonar images (essentially a photograph of the sea floor) enhancing the dive teams ability to plan and prepare ahead of dive operations. My team was on call and reacted to many requests for searches. We traveled with our boats and equipment over the road to any location necessary including Southern Texas, Lake Ontario, Nova Scotia and the edge of the continental shelf off the east coast of Virginia to name a few. This was a tremendously exciting and rewarding job, utilizing cutting-edge technology in the underwater environment with highly skilled team members.

Operated mobile satellite communications suites for command and control communications in various environments around the world. Built complex networks and provided IP services, literally from the ground up. Additional specialties included line-of-sight and satellite radio communications, Navigation systems, and Surveillance equipment.

Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach

Maintained all Air Traffic Control communications systems as well as radar systems for all flight operations in and out of Naval Air Station Oceana. I led a work center consisting of 6 military members and 2 government civilians in scheduling required maintenance checks and daily operational checks.
