I am registered with the Surge Capacity Force, a cadre of federal employees who volunteer to support disaster survivors by deploying with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the wake of catastrophic disasters. I recently deployed to Texas immediately following Hurricane Harvey, where I managed 35 DHS personnel supporting the Logistics cadre. I was requested to extend my deployment into the Recovery phase where I supported Hazard Mitigation efforts by reviewing damages to public infrastructure to identify engineering measures to mitigate against future damages.

AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps is a program for young adults to engage in team-based national and community service in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. As Team Leader, I supervise 7 members by facilitating leadership development, giving regular performance feedback, and balancing a $4,000 per-round budget. My daily roles range from project manager, to conflict mediator, to morale booster and more.
