I have over 20 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, ranging from roofer/framer to high-elevation iron worker. In May 2006, I left the working part of the construction industry to join Guardian Fall Protection Inc. (a major manufacturer of construction safety and fall protection equipment), first as the Director of Quality Assurance and then created a new department as Director of Training. In this capacity, I've became a certified expert in all federal and local governmental safety requirement as they apply to fall protection and related safety issues. I also developed and delivered a wide spectrum of basic and advanced training courses that are designed to meet all regulatory requirements. This combination of practical construction experience coupled with extensive knowledge of current safety requirements makes me an exceptionally effective instructor—the kind of instructor workers respect and will listen to. I have personally conducted hundreds of basic and advanced training and certification courses in virtually every state in the USA as well as the Netherlands, Austria, Singapore, Canada, and Central/South America. I enjoy my work and truly believe that educating the worker in a practical and positive way is the best fall, hazard, and injury prevention method available—and having the knowledge that my training has actually saved lives is enough to keep going.
