Service Writer/Parts Specialist/On-Site Pc Technician

When I first started here, I worked as a Service Writer (or customer service specialist perhaps). I dealt with customers face to face and over the phone/via email. I set up appointments throughout the day for customers to have their vehicle's serviced/diagnosed/repaired.A big part of the job was communicating between the mechanics and the customers to explain what the customers' vehicles were doing/not doing...and also explaining the needed repairs to the customer once a mechanic diagnosed their vehicles. I then had to work out various things such as when to get the vehicle repaired/how much it would cost/etc,Eventually, I was given a bit of a hybrid position - I was still the Service Writer, but I was also the local computer/IT technician. There were numerous problems such network connectivity, email issues, virus/malware ridden computers, and outdated computers that all needed to be dealt with quite regularly. I dealt with all of those issues. I upgraded hardware in some PC's, custom built some PC's, and performed numerous virus and malware repairs on many machines over the course of my employment here.

I began working here part time at first, and I had no real experience in sales or customer service at this point. However, Dell did a great job at training me, and now I have no problem selling a product or talking to a person.This was a call center, so I spent most of my time here on the phone, part time at first, and then - as I got better, I moved to a full time position...working anywhere from 40 to 60 hours a week.Most of the time, the job was fast paced, with calls in queue the entire day - one call after another with no breaks. My job was to take inbound phone calls from customers looking to buy new computers. I listened to my customers tell me about what they needed and then recommended a customized computer package for their needs, and then sell the computer to them.My goal, which I usually met, was roughly $5000-$7000 a day, with a certain amount of profit margin and other metrics.I was eventually given the MOCA Captain Title - my job was to spend some of my time listening in to other consultants' calls and assisting them with the Dell Model of Control (Dell's Sales Model).I did pretty well here - I was named one of the Top 3 Sales Consultants in the nation during one of my months here.
