Tasked with turning around a large direct mail business, who specialised in growing and sending plug plants by post. I implemented an organisational and digital transformation which led to the businesses marketing database being sold to YouGarden/Kester Capital in June 2021. I oversaw operations during the COVID pandemic when consumers turned online to purchase gardening products, ultimately turning a loss making business profitable on a turnover in excess of £10m.> Overall responsibility for a team of over 40 employees working across 3 nurseries, head office and an in-house call centre. Total annual turnover c£10m.> Over a two year period consolidated 3 brands (Jersey Plants Direct, Rainbow Flowers & Gardening Direct) to Gardening Direct.> Management of the closure of the company and the sale of the business to a UK competitor.> Total ownership and financial re-structure in February 2019, working with creditors and shareholders on business strategy and funding.> Complete systems overhaul during 2019 moving the business off legacy systems to Magento and implemented new back office systems.> Total offline and online marketing overhaul. Media buying with The Specialist Works, catalogue and print ads design with Paper & Pixels and database segmentation and analysis with More2.> Search, affiliate and social marketing in-house under my direction.> Developed NPD strategy and procured new product ranges to broaden appeal to a wider audience.> Strategic partnerships with Saga, Wilko, Robert Dyas and 3rd party sales via Amazon & eBay.> Call center outsourcing and systems integrations in December 2020, considerable cost savings vs FTEs and seasonal staff employed locally.

Accountable for defining and implementing the global marketing strategy across all geographies and marketing channels. Part of the Executive Management Team, reporting directly to COO. Feeluniue was sold to Sephora for £132m in July 2021.> Global responsibility for customer acquisition and retention through digital and ATL marketing channels.> Responsible for a team of 25 via 5 direct reports. Managing and motivating teams in multiple locations, recruitment / team building & conflict management.> Overall responsibility for planning and budgetting . 2016/17 marketing budget of £8.5m.> Key member of the Executive Management Team during high growth period, reporting to the COO, working collaboratively with our CTO, Commercial Director, Operations Director & other members of the Executive Team.> Instrumental in helping to establishing feelunique as Europe’s largest online beauty retailer with an annual turn over of +£55m and growth +25% YOY.> Digital Marketing – PPC, SEO, Paid Social, CSEs, Display & Affiliate marketing (voucher, cashback & content).> ATL – PR, TV (UK), London Underground & outdoor, 3rd party inserts, corporate partnerships, experiential marketing & print media.> CRM – Customer profiling & segmentation, Email marketing inc. responsive mobile design (marketing emails, lifecycle & transactional messages), print & onsite loyalty initiatives.> International – active in setting up digital marketing activities across the globe in Europe, Russia, Australia & the Nordics.
