I'm a modest person, so I really hate this space where I'm supposed to toot my own horn.Accomplishments? Check. Values? Sure. Specialties? A few. Skills? Yea, I've got them. And, I could make any of them sound more important than they are. For example, I sometimes act as the Office Lunch Order Coordinator.What I find more valuable to talk about is what I don't know yet. Let me explain.The internet is a constantly changing landscape. Actually, I think of it more fluidly, like an expansive ocean. Just when you've adopted the newest technology, gained a modest social media following, figured out the Page Rank algorithm, the flow changes. Newer tech disrupts the scene, people move on to a different social media platform and Google re-indexes. If you aren't flowing with these changes, accepting that what you did yesterday isn't going to work tomorrow, then you'll drown as an internet business.What I do know is that content marketing, connecting with influencers within an industry, and using social media to syndicate a brand message are essential keys to success today. What I don't know is what could happen to change this 5 to 10 years down the line. If there is anything that I’ve learned in the 10+ years working internet retail, it’s that you’ve got to be willing to change. You’ve got to be willing to invest the time, money, and effort in finding what works and cutting out what doesn’t. Successful internet brands have essentially become media companies. Thankfully, my unique skillset helps me adapt to the demanding needs of content marketing.One minute, I’m cutting video for a product unboxing, the next I’m editing lifestyle luxury photos, later I’ll be using that photo in an e-mail newsletter that contains informative sales copywriting. From start to finish, I roll out engaging campaigns, generating high response rates through e-mail campaigns (40k list size) and steadily growing followers on social media to over 18k across multiple platforms.
