The navigator will change as the metadata changes so that users can organize assets by changing the metadata. Managed the development and production builds using Perl scripts and CVS as the basis. The conversion process was to transfer the C++ structures into database tables, then transform them into a new database relational model. The conversion program converts the ANSI SQL files and database DDL into either Oracle, MSSQL or Cloudscape (a pure java database implementation). The java application reads the database schema and outputs an XML & annotated XML templates. These then are used to generate a database access layer of classes as the interface to the database of choice.
