I’m currently conducting an experiment about determination of ethyleneamines using a flow injection analysis. Amines are commonly utilized in various industries, however, many of them possess poor biodegradability. When released into the environment, they can lead to the dissolution of metal ions and water contamination, resulting in potential harm to both ecosystem and human health. Monitoring the presence of ethyleneamines is critical. We are exploring a method for determining their concentration in water sample using a flow injection analysis. In this method, the amines are complexes with Cu(II) and the absorbance of the complex is measured in the ultraviolet region. Our study found that the optimized measurement condition, and a calibration curve for ethyleneamines satisfying linearity. Furthermore, we also amines methods to reduce the impact of interfering compounds such as those with UV absorption or form complexes with amines.
