Most business owners will tell you entrepreneurship is in their blood, almost as if entrepreneurship chose them instead of the other way around. I’m no different. The American Dream is so compelling. My parents emigrated to the U.S. from Macedonia at a young age and what they wanted most was to be good Americans. They started their own business, saved their money, built their own home and sent both of their kids to Notre Dame. It wasn’t easy - they worked hard, really hard, but they did it with pride and good humor and in the end it really is a Cinderella story.I get such a kick out of entrepreneurs, their spirit, their optimism, their work ethic, their willingness to take risks - the wheels are always turning. They all have a story worth hearing. After working in my parents’ business as a kid and then working in big corporate America and ultimately building my own businesses, I have come to realize that for me, working hands on day-to-day with entrepreneurs is as much fun as I’m ever going to have at work. After 25 years of being a broker and adviser to entrepreneurs, helping them get where they want to go is still as interesting and gratifying as it ever was. I love what I do.
