The Choro Music Project (CMP) is a social entrepreneurship that invests in rural and poor entrepreneurs around the globe through microfinancing. The concept of microfinancing involves making small business loans available to people who otherwise would not be able to access funding through traditional economic means. We are partnering with the microfinance non-profit Kiva, headquartered in San Francisco, CA.The CMP will invest a portion of profits made from our music, including gigs, events, and CD and merchandise sales. The minimum amount to be invested in a Kiva loan is $25. Once the loan is repaid, the funds are available to be re-invested again or withdrawn for business purposes, in order to promote and broaden the impact of the CMP.

Project scopes ranged from small planning studies to multi-million dollar engineering design and construction. • Coordinated internal and external project teams including support staff and subcontractors.• Maintained open lines of communication with clients and regulators.• Secured $11.5 million in low-interest financing and provided continued guidance for successful acceptance of critical building upgrades to the cities of Dundee and Hermiston's wastewater treatment plants.• Served as liaison, coordinated and collaborated with multiple stakeholders and competing interests, including the City of Hermiston, county, state, and federal regulatory agencies to achieve a mutually acceptable, effective first wastewater-to-agricultural irrigation reuse project. The project included continuous coordination with the Confederated Tribe of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, farmers, and environmental groups.• Developed phased master planning approach to beneficially reuse City of Corvallis wastewater. Served as liaison and built consensus with the City, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, public and private stakeholders, and environmental groups.

• Managed the Oregon Department of Transportation Biological Services consulting contract. Client point-of-contact for statewide transportation projects. Developed project scope, schedule and fee estimates; managed actual project budgets to estimated cost.• Authored biological assessments under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act to evaluate potential impacts to fish, wildlife and plant habitat from bridge and highway projects.

• Developed and published national guidance for monitoring and evaluating the success of coastal and marine ecosystem restoration projects.• Published National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and damage assessment/restoration guidance documents, including essential fish habitat and Endangered Species Act Section 7 consultation.• Authored Programmatic Environmental Assessment for national Community-Based Restoration Program.• Performed essential fish habitat assessment in conjunction with NEPA for Pacific Coast natural resource damage assessment projects.• Represented the Restoration Center at scientific meetings and conferences.
