Work collaboratively with Bechtel (one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement, and construction companies) and several large construction contractors (Valard, and Graham Brothers Construction) to ensure the scope, cost, and schedule are met in regards to the right of way, mat installation, foundation scheduling, access construction, brushing, and reclamation on a 500 km long 500 Kv DC Transmission line in Eastern Alberta (EATL).Duties include:•Lead construction activities of the EATL project regarding right of way access, mat installation, brushing, civil dirt work, foundation schedule, and liaison with local county representatives•Prepare, organize and direct project work plans•Ensure safe work practices, quality assurance, and quality control of contractors work in accordance with contract specification and Alberta Safety Codes.•Hold start-up and orientation meetings with contractors and workers. •Coordinate various work groups, and communicate with other department groups regarding project scope, scheduling and other project related information.•Issue and prepare weekly reports on project status to the Project Manager.•Prepare written technical specifications for brushing and civil scope of works. •Prepare and submit construction project budget and estimate budget costs•Prepare budgets and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements•Review technical specifications for bid documents, evaluate tenders and prepare recommendations for contractor/ vendor selections.•Review and recommend contractor selection, attend site visits with contractors.•Establish good working relationships with multi-discipline project team members, contractors, and any others that have an effect on the quality, schedule and cost of projects•Work cooperatively with Bechtel, Valard, Graham Brothers, STRAD, and Terra Pro field coordinators and superintendents.
