H Block are a multi-talented duo, designing, directing, concepting and creating stunning VFX and animation projects. The pair have been working together since 2010 and in that time they have amassed an impressive body of award-winning work for clients including the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, CCTV and Channel 4.Whether working with 2D/3D animation, creating break-dancing robots from cardboard boxes, devising in-camera light effects made from Scalextric or building a glass sculpture to be filmed on 35mm, the pair are incredibly hands on and prepared to explore all types of media to enhance the idea at the core of the project. Their broad creative skill set has seen them create a number of channel and brand identities with their focus on inventive ways of working in and outside the camera and computer.The pair have won multiple awards, including a Bronze Lion at the 2013 Cannes Lions for their Animal Planet Idents, two Gold awards at Promax 2011 for the T4 identity rebrand and the Discovery Channel refresh and a Design Week Broadcast Design award for the Discovery Channel refresh in the same year. Stephen and Tom both studied at Leeds Met University, and although not knowing each other at the time they have adopted the name H Block after the inspiring building that housed the fine art, graphics and film school.
