I’ve made every marketing mistake in the book. Back in the 2000s I bought links, rebranded without research, ran campaigns without targets. But I did get one thing right…I set up a blog for our ecommerce sites. This was back in 2009, when no-one was blogging about steel toe cap boots and high-viz jackets. Long story short; those blogs took off. They generated a lot of traffic, which turned into revenue, at a fraction of the cost of our PPC efforts. That business was sold in 2012 and those sites are still going strong.
