About Tom Shrapnel

I am a writer and director. I’m currently developing my first original TV drama series, HOLDING THE LINE. I have made several award-winning shorts for Creative England and the BFI, including THE KNACKERMAN and STRANGE WEATHER, starring Maxine Peake. I have been mentored by directors Ben Wheatley and Hong Khaou. As a writer I was commissioned by Oscar nominated producer Rupert Lloyd to adapt Edward Beauclerk Maurice’s THE LAST GENTLEMAN ADVENTURER for Rose Garnett/BBC Films.I was recently one of over 500 applicants selected for the C4 new writers mentoring scheme.Alongside my film work I have directed commercials and content for clients including Nintendo, O2, Samsung and MTV.
