As Sr. Project Manager, delivered Point of Sale system to the U.S. Postal Service to replace their legacy system, employing the agile development life-cycle to complete and deliver the POS application in 17 months. This POS system allows the customer to upgrade to newer technologies, realize substantial maintenance savings and position itself for mobile and other advanced initiatives. This application is being deployed to 17,000 post offices and over 70,000 POS terminals with yearly revenues thru the system of over $11 billion. This project required extensive customer facing skills and cross-team and cross-organizational coordination. Technologies used: .Net, Java, C#, C++, XML, SOAP- Responsible for driving requirements, development, Quality Assurance testing and customer delivery using the agile development life-cycle approach. - System components include interfaces to outside web services and web applications, extracts to Enterprise Data Warehouse, and interfacing with POS scanners, printers, scales, and cash drawers. - As first member of the Virginia Escher team, recruited and built a team of highly qualified, productive and dynamic IT professionals. - Facilitated daily scrum meetings with Business Analysts, Developers and QA.- Coordinated monthly Sprint Reviews for multi-department and cross-functional customer teams. - Extensive Customer facing meetings, coordination and status updates.
