As a global AWS Enterprise Strategist, Tom advises, coaches, and helps C-Suite executives on innovation and enterprise transformation, where cloud computing is a key enabler. The goal is to help customers reach their short- and long-term goals through long-term vision and practical short-term execution. He applies his experience from leading the journey to the cloud that enabled large enterprises to benefit from cloud computing in technical, business, organizational, financial, legal, and compliance transformations. He also provides insights gained from building a world-wide group of AWS public sector Chief Technologists. from July 2020 to May 2023, he led the worldwide Chief Technologists for AWS Public Sector. They are a team of experienced technology builders/advisors to public sector executive CTOs and to AWS leaders. They identify and evolve emerging technology trends and patterns and help solve deep, complex technical problems, and problems at large scale. Tom also specialized in exploring and evolving emerging business and technology trends, such as The Future Space Economy.From 2006-2020, he served as the IT Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where he helped define, support, and implement innovative Space missions, emerging IT trends, and mentor the next generation of IT and Space explorers. Prior to JPL, he led teams working on large scale IT technologies, best practices, tools development, and change efforts in small startups, large commercial companies, in international venues, and in the US Government arena.
