Young European Leadership (YEL) is a fully independent, nonpartisan, and registered international nonprofit organization. YEL aims to empower young leaders and future decision makers from Europe and beyond, through activities inspiring and enabling these young leaders to foster innovative solutions to local and global challenges. The range of activites organised by YEL, the Charlemagne Youth Prize (European Parliament) winning organisation consists of, among others, recruiting and training the European Union delegations to the official young G7/G20 outreach programs, recruiting delegations to the UNFCCC (UN Climate Change Conferences) and the organisation of the Young European Council (YEC). The YEC was held under the high patronage of the Presidency of the European Parliament in 2016, and under the high patronage of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2017.
