Tom Suder was a strategic advisor for the University of Central Florida’s Institute for Simulation & Training (IS&T), an internationally-renowned academic research center that utilizes modeling, simulation and virtual reality technology for the advancement of training and education. Suder works with the Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab (METIL), which focuses on the research and development of innovative mobile technology, cyber-security and collaborative applications. Suder represented UCF in the Washington, D.C. area and provides the federal government with academic research and expertise in the area of mobile technology. Suder was responsible for establishing academic agreements and grants between UCF and the government for research and development into the policies, procedures and best practices required for the successful federal implementation of mobile technology.

Suder spent 15 years as the co-founder and Vice President of Concert Technologies, where he applied numerous innovative methods as the company expanded its technology implementation services internationally in over 90 countries. Suder was an early adaptor in the area of cloud computing, spearheading the company’s e-mail migration to the cloud in 2006, followed by the migration of all company applications to the cloud one year later. Suder was also an early adaptor of social media and collaboration in the workplace, as he used these tools internally in the mid-2000s to improve existing systems and processes, as well as develop a dashboard concept that used metrics to rate employee performance. Suder also developed the company’s customer service portal, which provided real-time information on high-profile implementations involving government end users, and he used open source technology to create a cutting-edge intelligence-gathering tool that allowed the company to better serve its existing customers and develop new customers.
