Typical examples are:• Growth of a mature food package material was linked to specific performance attributes. They were improved and successfully introduced as a new product into existing markets at a premium price.• Superior part performance was claimed for a new metal finishing technology. Analysis showed that incremental improvement would result. Client saved $6 million and later lab results substantiated conclusion.• Rapid growth (65% market share) was forecast for an improved diesel engine part. Analysis showed growth potential of less than 5%. Client disregarded this finding and pursued the opportunity. Three years later client market share was 2%.
