About Tom Swoboda

Visual artist. In the years 1995-98, he studied at the sculpture departament of the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts. He is the co-founder and manager of Szara Gallery in Cieszyn (2002-2004), and the co-creator of The UnderGrand Art Centre in Clitheroe, United Kingdom (2004-2005). He conceived and co-runs the international project of artistic residences Incydenty (Incidents) in Cieszyn, Cesky Tesin, Bielsko-Biała and Wakefield, United Kingdom (2005-2009).The main issues raised in Tom Swoboda's work are memory and spirituality represented both by the individual and the group (community), which in turn influence society.
