Responsible for the planning, engineering and day to day support of the organizations systems environment including all aspects of a virtual machine infrastructure that includes VMware vSphere, ESX and Microsoft HyperV hosts with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft Server 2008 guests, the local area network infrastructure running on Cisco Meraki switches and a fully redundant iSCSI storage area network that connects systems to a Dell Compellent storage array.Provide daily support and administration of MS Exchange 2010 servers, ShoreTel VoIP systems and Windows Server operating systems including file/print servers, database and application servers.Technical lead in the research and analysis of new technologies and solutions for multiple business units and their associated processes.

Design, implement and support all aspects of a large virtualized computing environment utilizing VMware vSphere (4.x). Install ESX and ESXi operating systems, attach storage to ESX hosts via iSCSI connections, build VMFS datastores, create vSphere clusters and datacenters, create distributed virtual switches, build and deploy virtual machines, set DRS policies, create resource pools. Design, build and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure using VMware View (4.6). Design, develop and support application delivery systems using VMware ThinApp. Support and maintain all IT infrastructure systems as part of a team. Implement, administer and maintain various storage arrays such as Dell EqualLogic, Dell Compellent and NetApp filers. Perform server virtualization migrations. Administer Active Directory. Active Directory Administration: including AD health checks with tools such as Active Directory Risk Assessment tool (ADRAP), NTDSutil and Replmon.Windows Server Security and Updates: Research and approve Windows server operating system security and hot fix patches for over 400 Windows 2003 and 2000 servers. Schedule and deploy various server patches by utilizing Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).Windows server administration and monitoring: Implement enterprise server monitoring solution utilizing HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) for over 400 servers. Monitor servers' daily performance and hardware health on over 400 local and remote HP/Compaq servers. Third level troubleshooting tasks.Server Installation: Responsible for complete server setups (server builds). Build and install server racks including mounting servers, KVM's and their switches as well as the UPS unit. Perform repairs and upgrades on Proliant ML and DL class servers. Create systems change documentation such as validation criteria, risk analysis and project plans in accordance with Sarbanes and Oxley (SOX) regulations. Compose server build documentation for SOX configuration compliance. Manage vendor hardware support contract for all servers and associated rack equipment.

Windows server administration: Perform server monitoring via Compaq insight manager (CIM), install and upgrade server monitoring agents to ensure server reliability and prevent hardware failures. Install and upgrade Windows print servers.Backups: Create and implement data backup schedules to ensure full data recovery utilizing Legato Networker and Veritas backup solutions for over 200 midrange HP/Compaq servers. Perform and verify daily data backups, manage Iron Mountain data archiving schedule to ensure data security.Disaster Recovery Implementation: Implemented disk to disk to tape environment utilizing SnapVolumes and IBM LTO2 disk drives in an ADIC i2000 tape library. Enabled point in time restores for all data types via NetApp SnapShot implementation, creating excellent customer satisfaction with IT department.Server migration: Utilized Network Appliance (NetApp) filers (F87, F125 and R150) to migrate Windows file and print servers, creating a significant return on investment due to reduced hardware costs. Administered NetApp appliances in such tasks as file share creation, apply file level security, snap mirror creation and dynamic volume expansion. Implemented iSCSI volumes for Oracle and SQL databases utilizing Microsoft iSCSI initiators.
