    Having been appointed to the role before our Solihull store opened, the Manager and myself oversaw the conversion and development of the site. I was then tasked with helping to stock the finished store, put displays together and prepare for opening. During and after opening, I was in charge of training new colleagues, and ensuring all Health and Safety documents were completed to a meticulous standard. On a day-to-day basis I would be dealing with paperwork, and ordering and handling deliveries. In addition, I would work on the shop-floor assisting customers, using my technical knowledge to help people find the right products and deal with any issues they may be experiencing. I was also responsible for maintaining the appearance of the store and ensuring we were always displaying the correct products at the correct prices. When necessary I often dealt with local marketing for the store, often liaising with other local businesses to set up partnerships in charity events, tech-based focus groups and catalogue placements, and constantly looking for the most effective and cost-efficient strategies. On several occasions I would visit customers at home to deliver and install new products. On one notable occasion, I visited a customer at his new home, which was still in the process of being built. I surveyed the premises and took measurements before recommending and installing a bespoke wireless multi-room system, which I then instructed the customer on to use. Over three years later, the same customer is still referring new business to me - a fact that I am extremely proud of.

    I was tasked with creating and coordinating a new website to promote unsigned musicians,working closely with Richer Sounds' head of Marketing and managing a team of three.* Created the initial idea for how the website and it's competition stages would function and was instrumental in the design of the site and the artist profiles contained within it. * Developing fully integrated marketing strategy.* Close liaison with agency workers and participating artists resulting in excellent project management skills. *Worked closely with a number of respected partners including Q Magazine to provide cutting edge and innovative content to our target audience.* Focus upon improving user experience and customer journey through the use of design.* Creation of full copy across the website, covering a large variety of topics including descriptions of genres, prizes and how the website could assist aspiring musicians. * Ensured thorough SEO of the site using Wordpress CMS system. * Social media marketing strategy including the research, proposal, set-up and maintenance of all channels. * Creation and planning of creative and engaging content to our growing audience.* Within a six month period, the channel had in excess of 300 active and engaged subscribers.Involvement in Marketing for Richer Sounds main website and campaigns:* Design and creation of a new B2C blog, distributed to 650,000 VIP members.. * Variety of copy written included music reviews, product tests, upcoming events and developments relevant to the customer journey. * Copy writing advertisements across national media, including What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision magazine. * Proof-reading of national advertisements and website copy. * Played a vital role in our National Record Store Day campaign in which I co-ordinated marketing activity for the promotion of Richer Sounds by working in collaboration with independent record stores*Blog and social media promotion alongside events management.
