My background concentrates on the boundary between Biology and Chemistry. I like to show students and teachers that these areas overlap greatly. In areas like Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biocatalysis and Organic Chemistry I feel very comfortable. Next to that Biotechnology, how you take something from a natural environment and accommodate it in a technological one, has my special attention. This is why I teach in Life Sciences, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and am I involved in curriculum transcending projects. My knowledge and experience on one side and my passion for education on the other, see to that I can captivate students during lectures, practicals and projects. I like to be well prepared but can also improvise if needed. In an educational environment I feel right at home.
