About Thomas Van Der Kolf
I am a structural engineer (PrEng) based in Port Elizabeth. I am currently a director and structural engineer at Focus Consulting Engineers. I have 10 years of experience in all aspects of structural design ranging from structural steel, reinforced concrete and structural masonry design for numerous structure types including industrial warehouses, office blocks, residential buildings and water retaining structures. I am currently undertaking structural design, investigation, and supervision work ranging from private home construction to small/medium/large sized residential, industrial and commercial projects as well as subconsultant and contract work.I completed my BEng Civil degree at Stellenbosch University in 2011 and a Masters degree in Structural Engineering at the same institution in 2014. My Master's studies exposed me to the fields of structural dynamics and seismic design.
