After a decade in positions that focused mainly on support and administration I made the switch a few years back to web development. After a course in PHP web development I started working for a publisher where I developed new websites for the magazines and helped launch a new online medium. Currently employed by Essent.be where I am a member of a small development team. Core responsibilities: building and maintaining the online customer self care portal, building and maintaining the online sales channel & backoffice applications, building and maintaining online communications platforms and internal user support. Other personal responsabilities are maintaining code bases and release management. Working with PHP, Zend Framework, Drupal, MySQL, Linux, HTML5, Javascript, jQuery, Phonegap, Angular.js... We have a 4-weekly release schedule as well as quarterly releases together with the other IT teams.
