After attaining my EE from Penn State I worked as a bench tech for 2 yrs. I then moved on to systems integration for a military trainer and simulator company. I worked with different county’s navy personnel of all ranks. After initial testing, I led multi-engineer installation teams at 3 different locations: Portugal, Taiwan, and Korea. After this I moved onto Computer Sys Administration. Starting at Univ. of MD Baltimore County, then The Johns Hopkins Univ. Applied Physics Laboratory (JHUAPL). Here I grew from desktop support to server support to Sys Admin. The 2 most noteworthy projects where I was in leadership roles were: 1) Migration of numerous email systems to a centralized MS Exchange environment. 2) The migration from an NT domain design to Active Directory. During this time I was assigned Section supervisor duties that included all aspects of personnel management of desktop support specialists. This included but not limited to hiring/firing, staff technical growth, reviews, mentoring and disciplinary actions. There was a 1 year period where I left the JHUAPL to be a Technical manager. A growing Web hosting company needed a manger for 18 systems administrators who also performed customer service. After this I worked with a Radio Ratings corporation in several roles. I have done some field service work that required troubleshooting work as well as customer service. I also worked as an integration specialist for digital audio masking equipment into the air streams of TV, radio and advertising networks across the country.Most recently I have taken a somewhat different path. I have purchased a Franchise and am taking on the management role of “CertaPro of Westminster”. A national franchise of interior/exterior painting. We do both Residential and Commercial buildings. Launched in The fall of 2009 I plan on being the force to reckon with in the painting sector of Carroll County by the summer of 2010.
