I worked with various managers in Nikkei's Tokyo office, such as Takashi Tanemura (TK). I developed and wrote consultative informational updates to the managers at Nikkei Japan to assist them in the transition of their news and financial service businesses to the internet. I was fortunate to have had experience working with Nikkei while at Bozell/Poppe.

Worked with two visionary leaders in the early stages of the internet, David Carlick and Fergus O'Daly, along with an exceptionally capable internet marketing executives such as, Andreas Panayi and Peter Adams, along with numerous other bright and exciting people that came together to build one of the first international internet marketing companies which was sold to Modem Media, now Digitas. DoubleClick, the brainchild of David Carlick was born out of Poppe Tyson/poppe.com as the first centralized distribution system for banner advertising, which was then merged with “IAN” Internet Advertising Network to become the start of today’s DoubleClick, now owned by Google. At the time, Poppe Tyson and poppe.com were subsidiaries of Bozell Worldwide. Wow, what a great ride and great experience with some of the greatest people in the world.

As CFO, I assisted in the growth of this regional B to B ad agency into a national ad agency through acquisition activity and internal growth. Also responsible for financial administration of Bozell Yellow Pages, and the DBM Group, a database marketing company, all divisions of Bozell. During the later years at Poppe I had the opportunity to work with some exceptional marketing executives and became self taught and well read in early internet technology that allowed me to migrated toward technology advertising and marketing to transition to management of the emerging poppe.com division. I had some exceptional help with Fergus O'Daly and Dave Carlik and then from management at poppe.com from Andreas Panayi, and many other exceptionally bright people as we added international offices that eventually became the backbone of Modem Media's international offices, now part of Digitas.
