😨OH MY GOD, THAT MEANS I'M OVER HALF WAY THROUGH MY LIFE!”😨I exclaimed when I hit 40, hearing on the radio that average life expectancy in the UK had dropped to just under 80.I joked with my wife that I’m officially "halfway through life", so maybe it’s time to get a Ferrari? 🚗Beneath the bravado, it hit me hard; I started questioning what I’d done with my life up to this point. I pondered if I’d achieved what my friends had, if I've lived up to my parent’s expectations and compared myself to them at 40. I wondered if I had achieved all I’d hoped for by 40.😱SUDDENLY, HITTING 40 HAD BECOME A REALLY BIG DEAL FOR ME!😱What else do I want to achieve in my life? Would I be happy at ‘full time’ knowing I’d lived a fulfilled life, or would there be a niggle of regret?Starting my own coaching business and returning to University to study Psychology👨‍🎓 had always been dreams, but had never moved toward reality. WHY? Was I too comfortable, was I cruising, was I scared or did I just not know what I wanted to do with my life?I decided to work with my coach, to answer some of these questions and clarify what I wanted from the '2nd half'.I dug into how I think, explored my values, preferences and passions. I identified blocks I put in my way and unearthed a limiting belief that I wasn’t good enough to go out on my own, that was stopping me from acting on my dreams.At times the thinking got too hard; I quit, procrastinated and thought, “maybe I’ll get a new job”, avoiding the challenge as that was much easier.However,through hard work and some amazing coaching, I realised that if I truly want to live a purposeful life;✔ it will be hard, I’ll will want to quit,✔ I will want to take the easy path, ✔ but, nothing worth doing in life is easy!Eventually, I discovered my purpose in life:💯💯
