After 20 years of Manchester Stinger bringing Petrol cars to competition, it’s an honour to serve as Technical Lead on the Team’s first EV Competitor.

As the leader of a team of 5, we designed the powertrain cooling system for the MAN25 EV, the team’s first foray into electrification. The year I spent in this role allowed me to expand my technical knowledge, especially in the areas of electronics and manufacturing, far beyond the scope of my degree. I was further able to develop managerial skills, enabling my team to finish designing well before the external deadline. This presented me a fantastic opportunity to explore other areas of the team, such as helping design the HV Battery (which will be the focus of my 3rd Year Dissertation) and with the manufacture of our Internal Combustion sister car.

Helping during race weekends on a team competing in the Club Enduro Championship. I am involved in getting the car race ready, such as adjusting the setup and fixing mechanical issues. This has included working under pressure, such as performing mid-race repairs to fix failed components as quickly as possible.
