I was part of the team that presented a strategic and creative pitch for the Shakey’s account all the way up to the re-launch. Handling the Shakey’s account was no easy tasked. Being in the restaurant business means a lot of new product offerings being launch, image building as a result of the re-launch and below-the-line events specific sometimes to just one or a few branches in a specific area or region. Handling the Concepcion companies was also no picnic covering aircon and refrigerator products. Carrier and Condura air conditioners, being the number 1 and 2 brands respectively. Being market leaders, they cannot and will not be complacent. Aside from having regular TV and print campaigns, a lot of below-the-line projects were being implemented regionally and nationally to maintain their respective positions in the market. Condura Refrigerators, the number 2 brand in the market, second only to General Electric, also kept us on our toes to maintain and even go up in their position in the market. Condura happens to be the only Filipino made refrigerator able to give the imported US brands a run for their money.

Handling the Unilab account saw us doing a lot of brand reviews for all seven brands we handled. Our brand reviews are done at the end of every quarter. Most of the brands we handled for Unilab are Dual-Media accounts, they’re limited to just TV and radio. Unilab hardly, to this day, utilizes the print media. The National Panasonic account, we handled their “brown lines”, audio-video products. It also a Tri-Media account. We also have a yearly singing contest sponsored by their Karaoke product line. It was quite demanding especially because the Japanese clients we dealt with in National Panasonic are very demanding. The PhilCom account saw us launch their PLDT-landline based NDD and IDD service. It was a very hectic launch that saw us from bidding for the account all the way to the launch of the product in media of which I was part of the team.

I came at the right moment when Lintas was tasked to launch Stag Pale Pilsen and I was witness and part of the process of the launch. The Carlsberg Beer account wasn’t much action. We were just maintaining its presence in the mindset of the Pilipino Premium Beer drinker with sporadic advertising. Ovaltine gave us more action since it was and still is competing with Milo. Hallmark Greeting Cards is a seasonal account which only comes out with print ads during special occasions.
