ASI Electrics – Apprentice Electrician: Nov ‘21 - Jul ‘24Fit-off socket outlets, switches, downlights, LED strips, plug tops, ceiling fans, exit signs, basement lights, emergency lights, smoke alarms etc. as directed by A-grade. Rough in general light and power, sub-mains, mains and building wire into slab conduits for basement lighting and power. Read and interpret up-to-date RCPs and floor plans to rough-in cable or cut-out switches, outlets and downlights at the required elevations and locations. Assist A-grades install and fit-off temporary power boards, temporary socket outlets, temporary lighting and other cables/appliances/accessories that are not part of the final permanent installation to AS 3000:2018 and AS 3012:2019. Test and tag leads for power tools, pumps, portable RCD power boxes, temp boards and general extension leads according to AS 3760:2010. Assist A-grades mark-out different decks according to provided plans. Install orange caps, conduit junction boxes and run conduits before slab is poured.Install vertigo rod hangers, threaded rod, Unistrut and cable tray for straight sections of the wiring system. Haven’t done complex sets (45/90 degree turns, T-intersections, etc.) but keen to learn.
