I would like to share my resume pin-pointing information about my experience, skills and education. Professionally, I have acquired organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail. My education from the Southwest Skills Center in Avondale, AZ provided me with the most current coding guidelines as well as billing standards and practices for Medicare and Medicaid. As a result, I am able to code charts with accuracy and efficiency. The ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion allows me to perform my job in an precise and timely manner. Following correct coding guidelines, I have also reduced the amount of denied claims from third-party payers. Recently, I completed an online course for Certified Risk Adjustment in which I have tested with AAPC to obtain my credential as a Certified Risk Coder (CRC). While performing my job as an E/M coder, I have developed a love for extracting and analyzing diagnosis codes from the electronic medical record (EMR) to the highest specify. It is my ongoing thirst for knowledge and learning about the disease process that has made me more efficient at what I do. It is also what led to my decision to seek my CRC credential. As an E/M coder, I have gained the ability to see the bigger picture and understand the necessity of correct coding guidelines and its affect on the patients long-term care. I thoroughly enjoy reviewing the EMR to identify those HCC codes which require extraction for the end purpose of risk adjustment. Every day, there is more to learn. As I move forward with my education I will be completing my Associate Degree in Health Information Management in 2019. It is my desire to obtain a position as a Risk Adjustment coder so I may apply my passion and obtain more knowledge to continue to be relevant to my career.
