In the year I have moved from being a primary trained teacher with a foods background to a technology teacher using foods as a teaching medium. I enjoy working within a supportive team environment, inspiring students to think about where their food comes from and teaching the technology process by which a successful product is developed.I am passionate about bilingual (Maori and English) education in schools. I continually aspire to increase the Te Reo and Tikanga content of my teaching and to empower my Maori students to embrace and celebrate our beautiful culture. My other teaching strengths are in literacy and numeracy, the arts and science. I have experience teaching children aged from Pre-School to Year 10. On a personal note, my partner and I are locked in the "green prison" in North Taieri, between us we have 3 children ages 17, 10 and 8. I enjoy playing squash, doing yoga and cooking and eating with friends and family.:)
