As a member, I help guide the foundation's stewardship of its endowment with a focus on mission aligned investments.

This boutique firm helps enterprises find their unique voice and use it more effectively. The firm offers a suite of services including auditing web sites, creating interactive content, updating digital tools and segmenting target audiences. Clients include: California Endowment, Greater Share, Art for Justice Fund, Threshold Group, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Heron Foundation.

Accomplishments include: Overhauling the 11th Hour Project website; Creating and managing internal newsletters by program and across programs; Managing and moderating Zoom events for grantees and internal staff; Working on DEI and BIPOC-led initiatives internally and externally; Increasing the social media presence to better reflect the foundation's interests; Working with external partners, including high-profile impact investments and indigenous organizations; on press strategy.

Accomplishments include: Completely overhauling the center's web site such as designing the user interface and logo design; Creating web pages for Covid and Racial Inequality commentary; Project management of the interactive for The GC Wealth Project's database on wealth inequality; Creating interactive libraries on wealth inequality and racial inequality research; Launching and managing the Stone Center's Working Paper Series; Managing the center's content and increasing social media presence; Managing press engagements and ongoing partnerships with external collaborators such as the UNDP; Developing processes for editorial flow and engagement with other members of the communications teams for The Graduate Center/CUNY.

Achievements include: Leading the creation of a communications practice; Innovating foundation financial reporting using interactive tools; Managing major events and creation of marketing materials; Developing content read by academic, nonprofit and impact investing professionals; Producing videos featured by Vimeo and Upworthy; Establishing a robust brand, social media and web presence; and Working on board engagement and grants management.• Responsibilities included: Member of the leadership team and involved in the strategy and management of the foundation including organizational, department and project budgets; Overseeing the web redesign, market study and crafting of messages for the foundation's unique operations and mission; Directly managing a team of two as well as consultants; Overseeing the creation external content, including podcasts, video production; Overseeing a portfolio of grants and outside partnerships; and Placing Heron in major media beyond the philanthropy and nonprofit sectors.

Achievements include: Managing of editor of CFR’s 2008 and 2012 presidential election coverage including blogs, multimedia guides and social media strategy; Working an EMMY award winning team for multimedia guides; Experience managing freelancers, staff writers and interns and helping them develop; Fellow with the International Reporting Project on sustainability issues and health crisis management in Peru; and Senior Journalism Fellow for Islam and security issues in Asia with the East West Center.• Responsibilities included: Management of daily content and a staff of writers. Line editing, copyediting and photo selection; Management of the editorial flow of the web site -- packaging and aggregating related information, and posting to social media sites; Soliciting and editing analysis from CFR fellows and outside experts as well as provides assignments for news staff; Management of freelancers for U.S. election coverage; Moderating media calls with experts; and Team lead on the Renewing America project.Staff Writer, CFR.org — June 2007-Dec. 2011• Responsibilities included: Writing content related to U.S. politics, energy, environment, global health, and religion; Daily analysis briefs and in-depth background articles, interviews, podcasts, and leadership on multimedia projects on major topics of foreign policy, such as climate change, global health and Islam in political culture; and Project manager of the nuclear nonproliferation and energy and environment pages as well as participating in aspects of the web site redesign.

Reporter, CQ Greensheets—Jan. 2006-June 2007• Responsibilities included: Coverage of Hurricane Katrina, climate change, clean tech, nanotechnology and developments at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.Reporter, CQ.com —Dec. 2003-January 2006• Responsibilities included: Up-to-the-minute Hill coverage and analysis of legislative action and policy on for the web and print on energy, environment and commerce; Writing backgrounders and data entry on bills and amendments.Editorial Assistant — July 2003-Dec. 2003 • Responsibilities included: Wring a daily column on Hill staff changes; Aiding in the production of CQ Weekly.

• Responsibilities included: Conducting media outreach and research on civil rights issues; Coordinating and briefing Republican commissioners on developments for the 2003 Supreme Court cases on affirmative action (Grutter v. Bollinger and Gratz v. Bollinger); Advising on DC school vouchers.

• Responsibilities included: Covering breaking news events for federal senior executives; Writing three to five stories per issue covering the executive branch and Congress.

• Wrote one to two features per week for the School of Communication web site.

• Responsibilities included: General administration support; Writing informational materials on financial management practices for community arts organizations; Helping produce two to three workshops per year; Drafting grant-proposals and progress reports to grantors such as Ford Foundation and Pew Charitable Trust.
