The Head of Student Wellbeing plays an integral role in leading and enhancing all aspects ofstudent wellbeing across the college.

As the Support Teacher, Literacy and Numeracy, I work within school teams to assist classroom teachers and curriculum leaders to develop and effectively implement responses to students with learning needs across learning areas or subjects, with a focus on literacy and numeracy.

In December 2017 I was appointed as Principal to lead the College through the final phase of ownership. These changes have been to transition ownership of the College while maintaining strong educational outcomes for P-6 students. As Principal I have led a staff and leadership group, reported upon and been accountable for these changes. • Management Restructure • Staff Restructure – Oversight of a complex redundancy and restructuring of Administrative, Educational and Student Service personal• Initiated, established and implemented a supported student transition plan, including regular liaison with the parent community and external agencies• Initiated, established and implemented a supported staff transition plan, which focused on staff development in preparation for employment transition• Reshaped and redirected student health and wellbeing services• Professional Development changes with increased staff development and collaboration • Introduction of new internal monitoring systems to increase attendance and improve student engagement• Reemphasis of self-appraisal as a part of our appraisal cycle• Participated in leadership coaching• Engaged ISQ personnel and other external agents to improved student educational and wellbeing outcomes.• Writing, negotiating, advocating and leading of a new College direction in 2018.• Gained knowledge of workplace agreements by applying the current EBA to a new context.• Work with the Executive officer of the Schools Commission and the Chair of the College Board to ensure alignment with strategic direction and 2018 intent.• Engage the leadership group in constructing monthly reports to the College Board that demonstrate the College is attending to its strategic, operational, educational and budgetary goals. • Inform the Board of barriers and future issues that may jeopardise goal attainment

Responsible for creating a learning environment with high quality curriculum and educational outcomes aligned with the principles and values of the College:- Provide leadership, mentoring and inspiration to staff to achieve strategic operational outcomes- Developed a solid cohesive educational team by setting high expectations and encouraging team approach- Coordinate and manage the allocation of staff to meet expected operational and budgetary requirements- Participate at all levels in the recruitment, retention and selection of staff - Maintain a culturally appropriate service delivery model relevant to staffing, curriculum, relationships, student and parent interaction- Developed and implemented an effective staff appraisal process that was incorporated across the organisation- Participate in strategic planning with the Executive Leadership Team- Lead team meetings to discuss operational issues- Develop, implement and monitor budgets- Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders- Monitor curriculum development across the College- Implement behaviour management policies and provide responses for difficult behaviours- Liaise extensively with parents and local community- Prepare and present reports to the Principal and the School Board- Manage reporting on funding and curriculum activities including Commonwealth and State Government Funding Requirements

- Responsible for the delivery of educational activities using adaptive physical education techniques to improve physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, or sports and game achievement- Implement and maintain appropriate assessment methodologies with a focus on students’ physical progress or needs- Establish and maintain standards of behaviour- Deliver clear education attitudes that shape health behaviour- Undertake extensive planning and develop comprehensive school health education including education curricula and programs- Organise and coordinate various sporting carnivals and activities- Supervise, coordinate and manage staff to assist in extracurricular activities and sports teams- Support and model the values and mission of the school endorsing the Christian perspective- Embed a cultural perspective into curriculum reflecting the diverse background of students- Use communication protocols and strategies that build relationships with indigenous students
