About Toni Simmonds

As a First Nation person, I continue to advocate for community in the education agenda, and ensure equitable access to culturally safe learning environments. I align myself and my career to providing education systems to First Nation children that supports every student, to become confident and engaged learners who have the ability to strengthen their own community. As a First Nation Educational leader I pride myself in working in a collaborative manner to improve the educational outcomes of all the students and staff that I work with. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to connect and support differing education sectors, and establish and maintain relationships with First Nation Communities, industry, government organisations and internal stakeholders. A priority across my diverse experience is creating learning environments that have high level of differentiated support and high expectations for all students. The main criterion of this journey is improving staff cultural understanding, and processes that support change and growth. I am committed to being a change advocate, and aligning with an organisation that wants to make change in this space and has the staff and capacity to connect with First Nation children and community.
