My name is Antoni Barceló Riera and I am a native Spanish and Catalan speaker who is passionate about words.As a child, I learnt a variety of alphabets to write in code. Then, I discovered the world of philosophy and linguistics and sought to decipher their deeper meanings. I find the most valuable experience when travelling is to dive into different cultures through their unique, fascinating symbolic universes, and always bring home a new book in the native language.I learnt English at school and gained more proficiency through performing live music for tourists for over 20 years. I spent 11 years in different cities in Spain working as a language teacher, which enhanced my interest in cultural diversity. Since 2020, I have been providing subtitling and captioning services to TED Conferences. In 2023, I moved to the UK and changed my career to use my language skills as a translator.I genuinely enjoy subtitling, captioning, translating, proofreading and editing. Basically, I love any activity that allows being playful and creative with languages. Furthermore, I have a vast knowledge of music, mental health and nutrition as well as humanities and social sciences.
