Toni Harrington is currently the AVP of Specialized Services and Complex Care at Homewood Health. As a Senior Leader, Toni is involved in many initiatives within the Homewood Health organization to advance Mental Health and Addiction Care of Canadian workers. Her work broadly aims to characterize the factors impacting recovery and interventions required to support sustainable return to work for individuals with chronic health issues such as Substance Use Disorder. Toni’s background provides a unique combination of experience in health, government & business sectors. She has expertise in developing practices and has a reputation for empirical based interventions. Her body of work includes the development and introduction of interventions that specifically address factors that prolong resumption of work and ongoing cognitive functional impairments. Toni developed a framework to describe outlook indicators and probability to return to work to assist disability management practitioners to develop more effective strategies for helping individuals away from work. Her passion for work focused interventions and positive client outcomes is well known in the health care sector. Her particular interests include quality assurance and standard setting as it relates to in Occupational and Organizational Health Policy. She continues have a strong passion for Mental Health issues. Toni has a Masters in Occupational Health Science (MSc) from McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine. She also has a Bachelor and Masters degree in Social Work from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral of Science program at Queen's University.
