Some time back, curiosity pushed me to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s not quite Everest, but at 19,340 ft it is Africa’s highest mountain. While trekking, I considered quitting approximately 2,000 times. (Yes, that’s a low-ball figure.) But, despite the low altitude, high winds, tangoes with frostbite, and mental and physical fatigue, I kept going. All the way to the top. I am that person. Inquisitive and determined. It is this tenacious curiosity that motivated me to move from Kenya to Australia in pursuit of a double degree in International Relations and Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Queensland. Armed with my degrees, I travelled to Gaziantep, Turkey where I put my academia to practical use - working for a Syrian NGO alongside dedicated professionals, delivering humanitarian aid and initiating development programmes in North-West Syria and Turkey. Now, living in Barcelona, having fine-tuned my experiences and expertise as a Master's student and Junior Researcher, I am actively seeking leadership opportunities in the humanitarian sector.
