After years of fighting it, I am finally embracing the industry where my heart and talents lie, construction. My father was a general contractor and skilled mason, so I grew up on construction sites. Throughout my life, I have been everything from a laborer to a project manager, but it was always just a job. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I found myself taking a college class to kill time while awaiting the start of a stalled project in Washington state. That's where it all started. I moved home to Wyoming to attend UW. Originally, I had intended to get my degree in Architectural Engineering, but within the first semester I knew it wasn't right. I took an Intro to Construction Management class the next semester and realized that construction is just a part of who I am and where I belong. I changed my major to Construction Management and the rest is history.I believe I present an amazing opportunity to the right company. With my background in manufacturing, customer service, management, and of course construction, I bring a wide range of skills and experience to the table that are difficult to replicate. I can relate to just about anyone, and on the rare occasion that I can't, I am able to use diplomacy and tact thanks to my time spent serving on various committees.I have enjoyed my time at UW, but now, I am ready to rejoin the workforce and get back to doing what I love, interacting with subcontractors, visiting sites, interpreting construction drawings, reading contracts, and the list goes on.In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my mother, my three children, my husband, and our two dogs. During the summer, we spend most weekends at the lake or doing DIY around the property. I also hope to eventually have time to get back to riding horses and doing some woodworking.
