About Tonje Kjellevold

I am based in Oslo, Norway, where I work as the project manager for Norwegian Crafts. I have led and contributed to many different projects including international exhibitions and publications such as the Nordic contemporary craft exhibition Earth, Wind, Fire, Water (2020–2021); the Sino-Norwegian exhibition Beyond G(l)aze, Suzhou Jinji Lake Art Museum, China and KODE Art Museums and Composer Homes, Bergen (2015); the Nordic Craft Pavilion magic language /// game of whispers at Revelations Fine Craft and Creation Fair, Grand Palais, Paris (2015); and the exhibition series Norwegian Presence, Norwegian Contemporary Crafts and Design, Milan (2015–2019). I co-edited the craft anthology Earth, Wind, Fire, Water together with Randi Grov Berger (arnoldsche Art Publishers 2020).I hold a BA in East-Asian studies and Mandarin Chinese from the University of Oslo, with additional language studies in Mandarin (advanced level) from Fudan University, Shanghai. I have also studied Norwegian and Nordic languages and literature at the University of Oslo, Volda University College and at the University of South-Eastern Norway. I am a Norwegian, English and Mandarin speaker (Swedish and Danish bilingual proficiency).
