Within the Canon R&D I am leading a multidisciplinary team (mechanical, electronics, software and physics) to design modules of our future printers.

Venlo

As a mechatronics designer I designed multidisciplinary units of the printer. Translating the requirements provided by the architects into engineering challenged for mostly the mechanical engineers, electronic engineers and software engineers. Furthermore, I designed state of the art control solutions enabling high performance printing.

In the role as project engineer I work at projects which take about 1-2 years.My first assignment was at Océ technologies in a role as equipment engineer. Followed by a mechatronic designer role at Bosch Rexroth. My third assignment is at Canon Production Printing as a mechatronics designer.

Boxtel

At Bosch Rexroth I participated in three separate projects, the first project is the ROADS driving simulator for Renault and the similar simulator for BMW. In this project I made contributions by performing test plans, I designed a noise model for the factory, initialized the installation plan and helped to reduce cogging in the system. Furthermore, I participated in a 8D team which aimed at preventing too large gaps between the linear motors and the corresponding magnets.The second project involved an study to create a new model electric cabin crew trainer. Here I proposed a high potential configuration and performed an analysis for the working range of both the original system and the newly designed configuration.During my last project I made contributions to the motion compensated crane on the Kroonborg vessel. Here I performed an analysis of possible configurations to rest the crane unfolded on the ship. I proposed adjustments to increase operating ease of slewing motion and I designed and co-performed tests to identify malfunctions in an hydraulic cylinder and valve. Furthermore, I designed and performed tests to verify if the play in the motion compensated crane in the slewing directions was at acceptable levels.

Venlo

I worked as an equipment engineer at the OPC factory. An OPC is a photo electric drum/belt which carries the image in Océ office printing systems. In this role I guide a part of the 10 years fit program to assure technical functionality of the equipment. This guidance mainly focusses on upgrading the control components such as the PLC, frequency controllers and its software. Furthermore, the role also requires assisting the technical service and introducing some new tools in the factory.

My project involved the full design of a feedback controller for a 6-DOF motion stage. The aim of the project is to exploit additional actuators and sensors for improved performance. For the project I designed a stabilizing controller, and estimated a non-parametric model. Furthermore I designed a high performance feedback controller.

Southampton, United Kingdom

This internship concerned comparing two different ILC algorithms for non-minimum phase systems on an experimental setup. The algorithms are implemented and compared in simulations and experimentations, also some improvements of the algorithms are proposed.

Eindhoven

This summer job concerned multiple small projects. The main assignment was intruducing a new measurement tool into the factory.

Veghel

Graduation internship for University of Applied Science AVANS in Den Bosch. During this internship me and my college (David Vogels) redesigned a segment of a conveyer belt assembly. A working prototype was delivered. The internship was at the R&D department.

Bakel

This is a 3rd year internship for the University of Applied Sciences Avans in Den Bosch. During this internship the main assignments where indexing and improving the pneumatics on a newly bought line of machinery for the food industry and designing a helping tool which improved safety while placing top heavy machinery.
