This contract had a value of over £300m over the life of the agreement.• Developed BAA’s position of being acknowledged as an expert in the arena of jet fuel.• Implemented the agreement to develop a major new fuel depot at Heathrow replacing four previous fuel depots, and replace with a single new facility of significant size and complexity. The essential dimension to this agreement was to ensure the development remained on schedule to compliment the overall development timetable of T5.• Renegotiated the fuel supply agreement for Gatwick Airport• Negotiated, probably, the world’s first comprehensive legally binding agreement between an airport operator and oil companies to deal with historic, present and future jet fuel ground contamination.• Lead the creation of, and the successful implementation of, the world’s first jet fuel contingency plan for a major airport which agreed jet fuel rationing plans for 93 competing airlines at Heathrow. This ground breaking agreement resulted in virtually no passenger or operational disruption at Heathrow following the disastrous Buncefield fuel depot explosion in 2005, which caused an immediate reduction in fuel supplies to Heathrow of 35%.
